Performance Analysis of TiO2-Modified Co/MgAl2O4 Catalyst for Dry Reforming of Methane in a Fixed Bed Reactor for Syngas (H2, CO) Production

Co/TiO2–MgAl2O4 was investigated in a fixed bed reactor for the dry reforming of methane (DRM) process. prepared by modified co-precipitation, followed hydrothermal method. The active metal Co loaded via wetness impregnation catalyst characterized XRD, SEM, TGA, and FTIR. performance DRM process with temperature 750 °C, feed ratio (CO2/CH4) 1, loading 0.5 g, flow rate 20 mL min?1. effect support interaction composite were studied catalytic activity, showing significantly improved results. Moreover, among tested loadings, 5 wt% over TiO2–MgAl2O4 shows best performance. 5%Co/TiO2–MgAl2O4 CH4 CO2 conversion up to 70% 80%, respectively, while selectivity H2 CO 43% 46.5%, respectively. achieved H2/CO 0.9 due excess amount produced because higher surface carbon reaction oxygen species.
